KISHTWAR, Nov 16: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav on Wednesday presided over the weekly block Diwas programme here at Government Higher Secondary School Bhatta, Palmar and listened to the people’s issues.
The programme was attended by DDC member Tahir Masood; ACD, Atul Dutt Sharma; Tehsildar, Umer Muneeb; BDO, Ravi Kumar, ExEns, PRIs, locals besides other district officers and officials of line departments.
Several individuals and PRI members projected demands and problems being faced by them. They demanded up-gradation of Health Institutions, educational Infrastructure, road connectivity and water and power facilities in the area.
The DDC member called for early disposal of the grievances projected by the PRIs and individuals.
The DC asked the Officers to come up with the solutions of the issues pertaining to their departments and set time lines/ line of action to redress the same. He assured people that their genuine demands will be redressed on priority.
Responding to the issue of widening of road from Bhandharkoot to Dangduru, the Deputy Commissioner assured that critical stretches shall be brought under widening very soon. He directed the concerned ExEn to ensure that the grievance was addressed on priority for the safety of the general public.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also congratulated the people for the newly sanctioned Sports stadium at Palmar and termed it as a great asset for the Youth and Sports fraternity.
The DC also called upon the people to register for Ayushman Bharat scheme to avail health insurance of Rs 5 lakh and avail the benefits of Amnesty scheme of JPDCL within prescribed time.
He also directed AD, FCS&CA to meet the demand of people of Palmar regarding setting up of the Food Extension Centre.
Meanwhile, the DC also distributed Land Passbooks under the Apki Zameen Apki Nigrani initiative among legal landowners in presence of Tehsildar and PRIs.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner launched a Plantation drive in the premises of the local School, in the presence of PRIs, school staff and officers.
