Maintain vigil to avert tragedies
11/16/2022 11:17:30 PM
A major tragedy was averted in Phallian Mandal area in Jammu outskirts on Tuesday after police spotted two IEDs few metres away from the police post.
A team of the Bomb Disposal Squad defused both the devices and the threat was neutralized.
During the past few months terrorists have shifted their focus towards Jammu and are making desperate attempts to create disturbance in the region.
A few people have even lost their lives in the blasts that were triggered by the terrorists. Security agencies are maintaining a tight vigil but the terrorists and their sponsors sitting in Pakistan are refusing to mend their ways.
Due to strong counter infiltration grid being in place along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border, terrorists are finding it difficult to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir. Now, they are using drones to drop the weapons and explosives.
Recently the Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) stated that drone infiltration along India-Pakistan doubled this year with 266 attempts of infiltration made so far by aerial vehicles.
The increase in incidents of drone intrusion was recorded along the border, especially in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.
The BSF had identified 79 incidents of drones flying in 2020, the number of incidents increased to 109 in 2021, and more than doubled to 266 this year.
The drones being sent by Pakistan carry narcotics, arms and ammunition, and counterfeit notes. Use of various types of high-speed drones with little to no information available about them has emerged as a challenge for the security forces.
There is no doubt about the fact that terror sponsors sitting across the LoC are using drones to keep the conflict alive and seem in no mood to relent. They want to keep on fighting the proxy war they had launched in Jammu and Kashmir three decades ago.
Besides the security forces, people too have to remain vigilant as the drone terrorism has become a challenge for everyone. They have to act as eyes and ears of the security forces and have to keep an eye on suspicious activities, objects and people around them. It’s the collective responsibility of all to neutralize the threats that are being posed by the terrorist bosses sitting across the LoC.
