Five-day capacity building program on "Use of Virtual Labs" concludes

JAMMU, Nov 18: A Five-Day capacity building program on "Use of Virtual Labs" organised by Department of ECT&CS, SCERT J&K, Jammu w.e.f 14th Nov-18th Nov 2022 under the guidance of H.R Pakhroo, Joint Director SCERT J&K, Jammu concludes today.
Earlier the program was inaugurated by worthy Joint Director H.R Pakhroo who laid emphasis on Creating virtual laboratories so that all students have equal access to quality practical and hands-on experiment-based learning experiences. The programme was organised by Department of ECT&CS of Academic Unit-III headed by Professor Surjeet Sharma and Jeevan Singh Head of the Department ECT&CS.
The aim of this programme was to develop/enhance Virtual Lab skills in KRPs/Master-Trainers of Jammu Division and to make them aware about various tools and techniques required to the use of Virtual Labs in Teaching and learning, this workshop is designed to orient teachers and teacher-educators about the know-how of Virtual Labs with special reference to OLABS and its significance towards providing real-time experiments and practical learning outcomes.
In this workshop, 50 participants from all ten district of Jammu Division participated who will act as Master Trainers for further imparting training at District Level facilitated by Department of ECT & CS SCERT J&K Jammu.
In the programme, various sessions were delivered which included Need and scope of Virtual Labs, Exploring virtual labs in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English, Cyber Security and Integration of ICT tools in teaching learning process. The programme also included a number of group exercises by the participants & interactive sessions with the Resource Persons.
On the 5th day of the programme, Group leaders from respective DIET Team gave the presentations on usage of Virtual Labs in actual class room transactions, resulting in the achievement of the expected outcome of programme.
The resource persons in the program included Puneet Thukral, Sr. Academic Officer,Vivek Jandial, Manjusha Kapoor, Jewan Singh, Navneet Gupta, Rakesh Chobber, Rohit Sharma Academic Officers, JK SCERT Jammu, Dr S P Pourash Shrikhandia, Lecturer DSEJ, Mohd Ayaz Raina, ICT Awardee, Lakshmi Puri, Teacher, SCERT Jammu.
The valedictory programme was graced by Dr. Ravi Shanker Sharma, Director School Education Jammu as chief guest who during his address exhorted the participants to use skills and techniques learned in this programme in actual class room teaching practices. H.R Pakhroo Joint Director SCERT Jammu and F.A Fayaz , I/c Joint Director Central Move Office graced the occasion as Guest of Honour in presence of S.S Rathore, C.E.O Jammu.
Prof Surjeet Sharma, Prof. Swarn Singh; Associate Professors, N.P. Singh, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Kishore Kumar, Romi Kumar, Vinod Mahajan; Assistant Professors Irvinder Kour, Dr. Sanjeevani and Parveen Akhter along with other faculty members of SCERT J&K Jammu were also remained present on the occasion. The detailed report of the programme in the form of video documentary was also displayed by Vivek Jandial A.O. SCERTJK.
The programme was co-ordinated by Navneet Gupta Academic Officer, associated by Ashu Magotra, Sr Academic Officer and Vivek Jandial, Academic Officer, SCERT J&K Jammu and supervised by Jeevan Singh HOD ECT&CS and Neena Puri, Academic Officer. The organising team included Arsh Kour, Academic Officer, Manjusha Kapoor, Academic Officer, Deepak Kumar, Academic Officer, Meena Thakur, Teacher, JKSCERT Jammu, Sushma Kumari, Teacher, Akash Khajuria, Teacher. The programme was moderated by Lakshmi Puri, Teacher, JKSCERT Jammu.
