Councillor kickstarts tile work in Sainik Colony
11/18/2022 10:13:34 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 18: Senior BJP leader and councillor of Ward 69, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa, kick started tile work worth Rs 6.30 lakhs in Sainik Colony. Speaking on the occasion, Corporator Randhawa said. "This road existed on maps of Sainik Colony for last 40 years but on ground nobody bothered to construct the road. It is my duty to reach every nook and corner of the Colony. She also appealed to the vacant residential plots owners to raise boundary wall on vacant plots. "
The residents highlighted that a large No of owners of residential plots have rented the slums/jugies to labourers without building toilets and running water. The labourers' resort to open defecation in Nallah. This is quiet embarrassing for the morning and evening walkers on roads on either side of Nallah. Foul smell emanates from Nallah and is spreading diseases in the locality. This defeats the intensive drive conducted by JMC against the menace of open defecation and open urination.
Alkesh, a prominent resident of the Ward while speaking on the occasion highlighted achievements of the Councillor. Others present during the occasion were Radha, Surendra, Sushma, Puja, Kulwant, Satpal Choudhary, Inderjeet Kour and others.
