Yasha Mudgal chairs 69th Cooperative week celebration at Bari Brahmana

JAMMU, Nov 11: As part of celebration of 69th All India Cooperative week, the Cooperative department today organized a grand event at Vijaypir under the chairmanship of Secretary Cooperatives, Yasha Mudgal.
Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Anuradha Gupta, was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The event began with hoisting of the Cooperative flag by the Secretary followed by inspection of stalls of successful cooperatives in the district.
While addressing the gathering, Secretary appreciated the achievements and activities of the department towards welfare and development of the society.
While highlighting about the theme of the day “Cooperative for Youth, Women and Weaker Section and Health,” Secretary congratulated the Department for registering more than 15 women based Cooperatives.
Talking about the dairy based Cooperatives in the district and recently launched Dairy Federation, Secretary stressed on the need of collection of milk from collection centres. She appreciated the performance of Farm Fresh Milk Producers and Processors Cooperative Limited for handholding of more than 60 Dairy Cooperatives.
Secretary floated the idea of a Cooperative Mart, for which she stressed that Samba district can be a pioneer. She also exhorted upon the department to focus on e-marketing of the products displayed earlier on the stalls.
Deputy Commissioner highlighted the work done by the members of various Cooperatives in putting their products on Samba district’s e-marketplace 'Bobo di Sandookdi'. She also praised the cooperative societies and their stalls displayed on the eve of Diwali at Rural Haat in Block Vijaypur.
Further, she also highlighted the work done in Aspirational Block Rajpura where the district administration has arranged the bulk milk cooling units, van with milk tank and vending machine for collection and transportation of milk and adulteration analyser unit and utensils for a dairy based cooperative working in convergence with Department of Animal Husbandry.
Earlier, Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies, Jammu, Dr. Nirupa Rai, highlighted the achievements and activities of the department.
The event was attended by Joint Registrar (Audit), Champa Thakur, Joint Registrar (Special), Sonali Arun Gupta, Deputy Registrar, Shruti Sharma, Chief Animal Husbandry officer, DDM NABARD, Assistant Registrars of Samba district and various district and block level officials.
