KATHUA, Nov 19: Continuing the momentum to generate awareness amongst the various stakeholders regarding the proper implementation of GST, Additional Commissioner State Taxes( Adm. & Enf) Jammu, Namrita Dogra today visited Lakhanpur to hold an interactive session with DDOs of Kathua District and later on carried out a Plantation drive here at State Taxes Office complex. Rakesh Kumar, President M. C Lakhanpur; DC State Taxes Enforcement Wing Lakhanpur, Ranjeet Singh, Sona Gupta, Assistant Commissioner State Taxes Enforcement Wing, Lakhanpur, Vikas Mengi Xen, Manohar Lal DTO, Dheeraj Bahadur BDO Duggain, Sunil Bhatia BDO Baggan, Vikas Gupta AAO FCD Kathua, Sushil Kumar advocate, Varun Gupta (CA),Nitish Kumar (CA) ,Rajan Bharti (CA),Sunil Sharma (CA) along with concerned State Taxes Officers attended the session. DC State Taxes Enforcement Wing Lakhanpur, Ranjeet Singh, presented welcome address to the Add. Comm (ADM & Enf) and various participants while State Taxes Officer Circle 1 Kathua, Sandeep Gupta gave a technical presentation on the duties and responsibility of tax deductor under GST Act 2017.
On the occasion ,threadbare discussion took place on salient features and important information on TDS filing procedure, issues pertaining to TDS deduction, importance of GSTR-07 filing, ways to increase tax base and revenue augmentation.
During the Occasion, Namrita Dogra exhorted upon the officers to avail the opportunity to familiarize themselves with GST and develop tax deduction mechanis.
She also acknowledged support provided by Commissioner State Taxes J&K, Dr Rashmi Singh in ensuring strict compliance of GST requirements by all DDOs especially those handling works contracts.
She emphasised upon the DDOs that they shall adhere to the timelines in filing their returns so that the revenue due to the government does not get delayed because of late filing of the returns and thus could be utilized for development of Nation.
Deputy Commissioner State Taxes Enforcement Lakhnapur, Ranjeet Singh while presenting vote of thanks informed that the session has been organized to provide a common platform for government and all the stakeholders involved to share relevant information thereby ensuring tax compliance and revenue augmentation and more such interactive sessions will be held in the coming days. He also stressed upon the officers to come up with specific instances so that the issues can be taken up for quick redressal.
