TWS Society organises “Five Days Eye Cataract Surgery Camp

Jammu, Nov 19: Tawi Welfare Society organised “Five Days Eye Cataract Surgery Camp” at Apna Van Sure Chak, (Mandal) from 15th to 19th of Nov. 2022. The camp was inaugurated by Zenab Gulam Ali Khatana Sahib, Member Rajya Sabha on 15th of Nov 2022. About 300 patients from different Blocks of Jammu were screened out of which 32 patients were selected for surgery and were operated upon successfully by the team of doctors, Dr. Neerupama Dogra, Dr. Kamal Gupta, Dr. Shekhar Sharma including para medical staff under the able guidance of Dr Parveen Jograj Medical Superintendent, Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Dr. Sameer Koul, BMO CHC Sohanjana also provided the medicines and logistic support. The Camp was concluded on 19th of Nov 2022. Shri Sanjeev Verma, Commissioner/Secretary J&K Govt Forest, Ecology and Environment was the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest appreciated the role of the organisation for organising such camps and some other activities for the welfare of the underprivileged section of society. The prominent acergy ny personalities who visited the camp includes Geetu Aulakh, DDC member, Madan Lal BDC chairman, Executive Engineer and Asstt. Executive Engineer, PDD Jammu, Arti Bhatnagar, Pr. CDA Northern Command Jammu, Ranjeet Kour, JKAS Sales Tax, Gopal Sharma, DFO (Retd), Dinesh Gupta, former Secretary IRCS, Jammu and many Sarpanches and Panches of the area.
