EARly Times Report

Jammu, Nov 20: Aam Aadmi Party's state spokesperson Nirmal Mahna on Sunday took a dig at Jammu and Kashmir Government for its ignorant policy towards contractual teachers engaged in Government education institutions and asked the government to frame a proper job policy for them.
In a press statement, Nirmal Mahna said that a number of educated people have been engaged as contractual teachers in different Government schools of Jammu and Kashmir and the step was taken to cope up with the problem of the shortage of regular side teachers.
She said that these contractual teachers are working in Government School since years and giving their pivotal services but are unfortunately a victim of Government's apathy. " These contractual teachers are demanding before Government for a proper policy of their job and engagement but Government is not paying any concern towards their plight and have thrown these people on mercy of God." said Nirmal Mahna. " We in Aam Aadmi Party demand for a proper job policy for these contractual teachers so that they can have some professional safety for future and can work without any fear." she further said. Hitting hard at Government, she said that Jammu and Kashmir Government and Bhartiya Janta Party is following an approach of allowing everything to run on its own and this approach is ruining the system.
" Government should understand that everything cannot run on its own and there are things that need Government's intervention." Nirmal Mahna said.
Reiterating the commitment of Aam Aadmi Party for a proper policy for all such employees, Nirmal Mahna said that Aam Aadmi Party has put in place proper policies for such employees in Delhi and Punjab and we are committed to do same in Jammu and Kashmir after we are voted to power.
