EArly times Report

Jammu, Nov 21: J&K Government has now come up with another dictatorial order for implementation of new Jammu and Kashmir Integrated Social Security Scheme and is putting specially abled, aged people and widows in a tight spot by making mandatory a number of formalities due to which aspiring beneficiaries are getting in a state of distress.
In a press statement, Namrta Sharma, President Women's Wing in Jammu Province of Aam Aadmi Party said that Jammu and Kashmir Government has now implemented as a new Jammu and Kashmir Integrated Social Security Scheme but the procedure devised for availing benefit of this scheme is too complex and normally out of reach for a beneficiary.
" Domicile certificate, Date of Birth or disability certificate from District Board, Affidavit of Judicial Magistrate are among a number of mandatory formalities kept in it and the procedure is too lengthy." Sharma said.
She said, " We too support a proper verification process as it will weed out those who are not entitled for benefit of scheme but the procedure should be easy one for those who are deserving."
AAP's Namrta Sharma further said that domicile certificate are a genuine formality mentioned in the scheme but poor people are facing immense difficulties in managing affidavit from judicial setup as it require lengthy approach.
Appealing Jammu and Kashmir Government to ease the process for the scheme, she appealed alternate to the judicial affidavit and it can be an affidavit issued by the concerned Sarpanch or municipal representative besides she also demanded that death certificate for widow pensioners issued by concerned Sarpanch should also be included as there are a number of widow females whose husband died long ago and they are not having death certificate required as per the scheme due to lack of awareness.
"We in AAP are not against any kind of betterment for implementation of these schemes but we are concerned about complex formalities required to avail benefit due to which poor people are suffering hard." she said.
Aam Aadmi Party leader also appealed district administrations of all the districts in Jammu and Kashmir to constitute special teams so that the process for issuance of necessary formalities from Revenue Department, district medical Board of health department can be expedited and beneficiaries get the required papers and certificate at the earliest without any delay.
