Congress trying to unite all non-BJP parties in J&K through Rahul’s Yatra | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 21: Through the forthcoming Bharat Jodo Yatra in J&K, Congress is trying to bring all opposition parties under a single platform to give a united fight to the BJP in the coming assembly elections. After convincing the chairman of the Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party Choudhary Lal Singh to join Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra, Congress has asked former Chief Minister, Dr. Farooq Abdullah to join the Yatra. After a delegation of All Parties United Morcha (APUM) met Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Congress issued a handout and claimed that the former Chief Minister and National Conference has announced joining the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The Yatra which began on 7th September from Kanyakumari and will pass through 12 states, culminating in Jammu and Kashmir – spanning a distance of nearly 3,500 Km over the course of about 150 days. The Yatra is likely to enter J&K in February 2023 from Lakhanpur. Sources said that some national leaders are in touch with prominent politicians of Jammu and Kashmir regions respectively to involve them in the Yatra. “Through Bharat Jodo Yatra we will try to bring all non-BJP parties on the single platform ahead of the assembly polls in J&K”, a senior Congress leader told The Early Times. Wishing for anonymity, he said that central leaders are also in touch with the leadership of PDP for the Yatra. |
