CLUJ celebrates NCC day

Jammu, Nov 22: Department of Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu organized a 2 Km race for the NCC cadets of Constituent Colleges of CLUJ in the grounds of GGM Science College to commemorate NCC Day as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav under the patronage of Prof. Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, CLUJ. About 20 cadets (2male &2 female) from each Constituent College participated in the race. National Cadet Corps, NCC celebrates its raising Day in November to pay homage to the heroes who laid their lives for the Nation.
The NCC provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development with a sense of Duty, Commitment, Dedication, Discipline and Moral Values so that they become able leaders and useful citizens. It also gives exposure to the cadets in a wide range of activities., with a distinct emphasis on Social Services, Discipline and Adventure Training.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was attended by Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Principal, GGM Science College , Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, CLUJ, Dr. Banpreet Kour, Associate Dean, Students Welfare, Prof. Mohd. Ashraf, Dr. Sushma Sharma, Assistant Deans, Students Welfare, CLUJ. The programme was coordinated and supervised by Dr. Devinder Sharma, Associate Dean, Students Welfare, CLUJ. Mr. Pankush Kumar, GGM Science College, Mr. Rohit Singh, MAM College, Mr. Lucky Katoch, GGM Science College bagged the Ist, 2nd and 3rd Prizes in men’s category.Surbhi Sharma and Malik Madiha of MAM College secured Ist and 2nd prizes while Eshu of SPMR College of Commerce bagged the 3rd prize in the female category.
