Dental Health Check Up In Adopted Village Under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

Jammu, Nov 22: A dental and oral health checkup was organised by UBA Team from GGM Science College Jammu, in collaboration with “Ivory Harbour The Dental Clinic”, Trikuta Nagar under UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN in the Govt Middle School, Chak Bana in the adopted village Chak Bana in Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu. The UBA program is an initiative by Ministry of Education. The UBA Mission is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth. The event was organized under the guidance of worthy principal of the college, Prof Rajesh Gupta and the supervision of UBA Coordinator and Associate NCC Officer Dr. (Capt.) Anjana Sharma,UBA Team members Dr Gurpreet Kaur, Dr. Lakhvinder Singh, Prof Sumiksha and Dr. Deepak Kumar along with 20 NCC SW cadets of the college. The general dental and oral health checkup was done by Dr Umang Jamwal of Ivory Harbour Dental Clinic. Beside the dental checkup, other stationery items, oral health kits and eatables were also given to more than fifty students from class prenursery to eighth of the school. The whole event was coordinated by Head Mistress Smt Vinay Kumari and Teacher Mr Naresh Sharma, along with other staff members of the school. The NCC cadets and the UBA team members interacted with the students and gave awareness regarding the necessity of personal health and hygiene. The speeches were also given by NCC cadets to the students on these topics. Refreshment were also served to the NCC cadets.
