DB disposes of PIL against charging of fee during Covid times by schools | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 22: A Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has disposed of the Public Interest Litigation against charging of tuition and bus fee by any educational institute during Covid times from August-2019 onwards till normal class work resumed In a PIL filed by Sheikh Umar Farooq against the charges taken from the parents by any educational institute from August-2019 onwards till normal class work resumed, the Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul, disposed of the PIL with the direction that the grievance, if any, of any of the individual parent can be addressed to by approaching the said Committee/Government. This significant order was passed after Additional Advocate General submitted that the grievances of the petitioner stands settled by formation of Committee for Fixation of Fee Structure of Private Educational Institutions, J&K. The Committee is said to be issuing the orders from time to time to regulate the matters within its ambit and the Committee is providing hearing to the various parent bodies as also the School associations.
