Mushroom Development Officer felicitated

KATHUA, Nov 24: Sanjeev Rai Gupta, Chief Agriculture Officer felicitated Bharat Bhushan, Mushroom Development Officer, Kathua upon receiving appreciation certificate from LG of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha for his contribution in implementing Mushroom Development Scheme effectively in Kathua District.
It is pertinent to mention that progress made in the Mushroom development in Kathua District has been appreciated by LG Manoj Sinha during Farmers Conference at Jammu on 22 November 2022. He also lauded the efforts of the department in boosting Mushroom Cultivation and making mushroom growers self-reliant especially Women Entrepreneurs. During his interaction in his public broadcast program "Awaam ki Baat" also talked about only women Farmers Produce Organization of Jandi Panchayat which are rearing Mushroom , simultaneously earning from the produce, there by improving their economic status.
Sanjeev Rai Gupta also appreciated the efforts of employees of Mushroom Development Scheme, Kathua and other field functionaries for supporting Women Farmers Produce Organization Atamnirbhar Narishakti Mushroom & Agro Producers Cooperative Limited, Jandi by providing Departmental Subsidy of Rs. 75000/-per shed for construction of Mushroom Sheds. Seven number of Mushroom Sheds were constructed during two years in Jandi Panchayat with departmental subsidy support , thus raising production of Mushroom from 45 quintals per year to 130 Quintals per year in one year.
On the occasion, Bharat Bhushan, Mushroom Development Officer Kathua, thanked Sanjeev Rai Gupta, Chief Agriculture Officer, Kathua and his team, officers, officials and other field functionaries for their support and efforts in making mushroom cultivation an enterprise, thereby helping common masses to grow mushroom, there by bringing laurels to Department of Agriculture Production Kathua at every hierarchy level.
Other present on the occasion were, Ashok Sarmal, Area Development Officer (vegetables) Kathua, Anil Kumar, Assistant Soil Chemist, Soil testing Lab, Kathua and officers/ officials from office complex of Chief Agriculture Officer, Kathua.
