12/22/2008 9:12:34 PM
Early times Report
Jammu, Dec 22- Wrapping up his two month long electioneering, the former Union Minister and senior BJP leader, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta observed that the party has played its role in educating the electorates and expressed the confidence that they would not lose opportunity this time to punish those who have been making false promises and betraying their cause as also were responsible for their woes and sufferings.
Taking to media persons here today he described ‘Congress as a most communal organization’ and held it and its other allies responsible for not even granting citizenship rights to the refugees from adjoining Sialkot and other areas. This inhumane treatment speaks loudly that how communal the Congress, National Conference and other pseudo secularists are. The Congress had been enjoying more than two/third majority right from 1953 to 1975 but they did not amend the State Constitution to undo this and other injustices.
He said the problems of the displaced persons from Pak-occupied Kashmir as also other parts of the state were not solved and the exodus of minorities from the valley of Kashmir was also the result of wrongs of the Congress-NC coalition in late eighties.
‘While no care was taken to protect the properties of the migrants, he said that the communal mindset of the Congress and its allies was also responsible for discrimination against Jammu and this discrimination was responsible for political slavery of Jammu region and injustices to Ladakh.
Congress leaders had been making false promises at the time of every elections, he said and maintained that the claims of development and prosperity were far from ground realities despite their spending massive funding from the Centre.
