Shiv Sena seeks strict implementation of FFC recommendations, extension in tenure
11/26/2022 11:01:50 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 26: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena has urged the government to put an end to the arbitrariness like exorbitant fee collection by private schools and to extend the tenure of the Chairman of the Fee Fixation Committee.
Addressing media persons at Party Office in Jammu, Manish Sahni, President, J&K Shiv Sena said that after the formation of the Fee Fixation Committee, many commendable efforts were being made tbe the Chairman of the FFC including curbing of arbitrary fee collection by private schools, stopping commercialization of education and action on the complaints putforth by the parents. But it is unfortunate that even before all these recommendations were implemented, the tenure of FFRC chairman retired Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar was terminated, he added
Sahni said that during the corona period, Justice Attar had done the work of providing relief to the parents by issuing strict instructions to the private school managements to stop the reckless recovery on the pretext of refundable funds and other items.
"A ray of hope had appeared among the parents to stop the arbitrary loot of private schools. But the reach and influence of private schools on these reforms and recommendations proved to be overwhelming and on November 13, Justice (retd) Muzaffar Hussain Attar's tenure was terminated," he said.
Pertinent to mention here that the government had on November 9, 2020 appointed Justice (Retd) Muzaffar Hussain Attar as the Chairman of FFRC for a period of two years.
Sahni urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to extend the tenure of Muzaffar Hussain Attar and strictly implement all the recommendations of the Fee Fixation Committee in letter and spirit. On this occasion president Kamghar wing Raj Singh, Media advisor Deepak Sharma, chairman Katra Mohan Lal, Viney Abrol, Mangu Ram were present.
