| 13 constituencies in Jammu, Samba witness hectic campaigning | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 22-Hours before the clock signaled end of campaigning different political parties, besides scored of independents, today carried out hectic exercise for wooing voters in the 13 constituencies where polling was scheduled to be held on Wednesday. For the first four hours in the morning campaigning was dull in the 13 constituencies of Jammu and Samba districts because of thick fog and chill. With the bright sun peeping behind the clouds pre-poll campaign picked up with candidates moving from one area to the other. Panthers Party concentrated in Samba and Vijaypur constituencies, BJP leaders focused their attention in the three constituencies in Jammu city and Bishna. The Congress carried out vigorous campaigning in Gandhi Nagar, R.S.Pora. Bishnah, Suchetgarh, Raipur- Domana, Chhamb and Akhnoor. The National Conference diverted all its energies and resources in Marh, Jammu West, Vijaypur, Gandhi Nagar, R.S.Pora and Bishnah. Tomorrow the contesting candidates and party leaders have decided to carry out a whispering campaign by moving from door to door. Panthers Party General Secretary, Harsh Dev Singh said that “we shall spend the two nights in whispering campaign.” Leaders of the BJP, the Panthers Party, the National Conference and the Congress seem to be worried over the possible split in their vote bank because of large number of candidates, including a sizeable number of independents, being in the poll fray. Harsh Dev Singh is of the opinion that the election results may throw up some surprises in the shape of a large number of independents making it to the Assembly.
