First Edition of Thannamandi Premier League Cricket Tournament concludes

Thanamandi, Dec 1: Thannamandi Cricket premier league today concluded at Govt. Degree College Thannamandi. The cricket tournament was organized by Govt. Degree College Thannamandi under the banner “Say No to drugs yes to life” in collaboration with Thannamandi Sports Club.
A total of sixteen teams from different parts of tehsil Thannamandi participated in the said tournament. Syed Sahil Ali Shah (Tehsildar Thannamandi) was the chief guest on the occasion. Mr. Shakeel Mir (Chairman Municipality), & Mr. G.M, Kamlak, Mr. Ashiq Shawl (President TMSC), Mr, Rahil Ganai (senior journalist) along with others reputed personalities were present during the occasion. Mr. Sahil Shah Chief guest of the occasion distributed the trophies, medals and mementos & appreciation certificates among the winner and runner up teams.
Mr. Rahil Ganai started the proceedings of the final event where Thannamandi Sports Club (Senior) invited to bat first by Mr. Saqib Mirza captain of Brothers 11 behrote. Brothers 11 bowlers bowled extremely well and restricted the senior club of thannamandi to score just 89 runs in 10 overs. In reply Brothers 11 batters could not do well with the bat and lost early wickets in the inning which cost them to lose the match by 39 runs. Mr. Rahil ummatti scored 29 highest from brothers 11 and also took some important wickets for his team earlier. Mr. Aftab Thakkar from Thannamandi sports club bowled economical spell and also added some important runs for his team. Later Mr. Mazhar Shawl was adjudged man to the match for his brilliant spell and also adjudged man of the series for his all-round performance and thus lifted the winning trophy of the tournament. Later Mr. Shah in his address congratulated the winner and runners up teams for displaying remarkable sportsman spirit and their splendid performances in the final match and making it memorable and electrifying. He further congratulated Principal of the college Dr. Farooq Ahmed for his support throughout the tournament and the organizers of the tournament especially Dr. Mohd Ibrahim (Physical Director) Dr. Athar Aziz Raina (HOD Maths) , Prof. Ajaz Nazir (HOD Physics), Prof. Mudasser Majeed, Prof. Mohd Shoket (HOD Education), Prof. Naveen Sharma (HOD Env.science) & Dr. Tajinder Singh (HOD Botany) and congratulated Sports committee of the college for holding the mega tournament and carrying it with discipline, adding he said that this event is a message to all the youth to work against drug abuse and channelize their energy into making greater strides in their studies and sports.
