JAMMU, Dec 2: When it is about Delhi Public School Udhampur, it has to be something outstanding! And here's the well-known name in the field of education spreading the best of education in the district Delhi Public School Udhampur celebrated DPS Olympics 4.O the annual athletic meet felicitation ceremony on 30Nov 2022 in the magnificent campus of DPSU.
Enthusiasm and energy are two words to summarize the entire event. The day at DPSU started with the school warmly welcoming the chief guest of the opening ceremony, Shri Pawan Gupta Ex MLA Udhampur, Guest of Honor Mrs. Juhi Pathania Vice Chairperson District Development council of Udhampur & Guest of honor Ranjit Kalra, Member J&K Sports Council.
The program begin by presenting saplings by Dr JC Gupta PVC DPSU to the chief guest Pawan Gupta, Vivek Gupta MD of presented the sapling to Ranjeet Kalra, Sucheta Gupta Director Academics, presented the sapling to Juhi Pathania the guest of honor.
DPS Olympics 4.0 started with the welcome address by the school head girl Ms Naina Khajuria and head boy Rehan Abbas.
The chief guest along with the dignitaries lite the DPS Olympics torch. The school sports captain Ritivik Sharma with Vice Sports captain Rudra Pratap took the DPS Olympics torch and took a round of the field.
This was soon followed by an outstanding march past by the students of DPSU. The motor bike stunt was the key attraction of the March past . The students marching past deserve huge applauds, as these youngsters have been trained tirelessly. With the hard training, the students have seemingly mastered the art! Behind them were the school Tableau representing the rich culture of J&K. The tableau for Jammu, Kashmir, Bhaderwah & one on unity & diversity of J&k was showcased and was very highly admired and hailed by the audiences. Both the march past and tableau complimented each other as both were equally beautifully, smartly and tactfully performed.
The DPS Olympics was declared open by the Chief Guest followed by mesmerizing fireworks.
The races, that noted, were not merely competitions, but had a lesson in them. Some of these races taught team-work, mental alertness, focusing, etc. Giving a break to the athletics here were the students displaying their skills. through drill, Cultural performances such as Classical dances, Ganesh Vandana, Kathak, Zumba etc all well-synchronized and disciplined. The students looked smart and sharp. Virtuous Principal Dr. Kunal Anand next took the stage to address the gathering, appreciating the students, their performances, congratulating the teachers and parents for their hard-work behind each and every event displayed by students. He presented the school annual report for the session 2022-23 that left everyone spellbound. Various track and field events were held like sack race, three leg race, 100 mtrs , 200 mtrs, 400 mtrs, Relay race, bicycle race, long jump, shot put, javelin throw etc. The crown of all the activities was Skatothon in which students took 2 round in skates, 2 on bicycles and then 200 meter running before reaching the finishing line .
The Chief guest for the closing ceremony was Balwant Singh Mankotia, Ex MLA Udhampur and Guest of honor was Pawan Khajuria. Anissa Nabi KAS State Tax officer and Mansi Rattan Director MG institute of Design were also present as the Guest of Honor. The others present on the occasion were, Dr. Kunal Anand Principal DPSU & Vice President Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex, Bhanvi Sharma Head Mistress DPSU, Shivani Koul Jr Head Mistress DPSU, Sangeeta Nargotra SR, Chief Coordinator, Rakhi Gupta CCA Chief coordinator Lakhvinder Kour Jr.Chief Coordinator. The Chief Guest along with guest of honor and honorable Pro Vice Chairman Of DPS Udhampur Dr.J.C Gupta, Managing Director Vivek Gupta, Director Academics Sucheta Gupta along with all dignitaries were invited to the stage to distribute Medals and Prizes to the victorious students in both Track & Field events, sports achievements. The students who won accolades in State Level and national level competitions were also felicitated.
Dr.Lalita Memorial Academic Brilliance awards were given to meritorious students of class X, XII for brilliant board result . Dr Lalita Memorial Kala Nipun award were conferred to the sports department and Art craft department and Dance department. Further on Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan Award was given to the teachers for bringing outstanding board results. All the awards were presented by honorable Chief Guest Balwant Singh Mankotia.
Later parents in the audience were also involved into various sports event, the school had organized a 100-meter race for Parents. The winners were felicitated with medals. Coordination among parents made the audience had a blast. The vote of thanks was presented by The Vice Head boy Rohinish Sharma Vice Head girl.
The Program came to an end with a finale dance performance in which students, parents, staff and even the Chief guest danced to the tunes of music.
The whole program was presented by the team of live commentators Rakesh Sharma PGT Commerce, Preeti Sharma PGT English, Humera Shah TGT Science along with the team of students of class 12th. The program was conceptualized by CCA Head Rakhi Gupta & JR. Head Mistress Shivani Koul. The cultural program was choreographed by Vishal Mehra, Rasham. The deco of the program was by Arun, Roma, Santosh. The Sports department coordinated all the track field events.
