Mayor JMC inaugurates ambitious "My Town My Pride 2.0" in District Jammu
Overwhelming public response witnessed across all Municipal areas of Jammu district

JAMMU, Dec 5: My Town My Pride 2.0 program commenced on Monday in all the Municipal areas of Jammu District amid overwhelming public response.
Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, Rajinder Sharma inaugurated the main function organised at the Gulshan Ground Jammu.
The Mayor inspected the stalls of different departments and also enquired about different schemes initiated by the government for the benefit of common masses.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor appreciated the efforts of UT Administration and said that after successful response of Back to Village initiative in rural areas, the government launched My Town My Pride program for urban population which aims to deliver public services at doorsteps of residents, garner cooperation and participation of people in development and evolve a strong and vibrant local self-governance.
He said that there was a need for smart and sustainable solutions to urban challenges.”With active participation of the public, we can transform cities into vibrant urban economic centres.” He added.
The artists from Information Department and JKAACL presented a spectacular cultural program showcasing the vibrant Dogra Culture through the traditional Dogri folk dance and music, including Haran and Jagarana.
Meanwhile, multifarious activities, including awareness cum training programmes, plantation drives, special sanitation drives, distribution of land passbooks and other certificates, awareness regarding govt. schemes etc were held across all the Municipal areas of Jammu district.
The Government departments including Revenue, Health, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture, C-DYTE, Handicrafts and Handloom, Floriculture, Ayushman Bharat, Social Welfare, SBI Bank, Employment, Industries, Cooperatives, Tourism etc established stalls to sensitize people regarding their respective schemes.
The MTMP was also held at Town Hall, Convention Centre, PWD Guest House Gandhi Nagar, Engineering Institute Channi Himmat and Auditorium of Polytechnic Shiv Nagar in Jammu district.
Besides, the MTMP was also held at Akhnoor, Arnia, Jourian, Gho Manhasan, R.S Pura, Bishnah and Khour.
