VC SKUAST flags off educational tour of veterinary students

JAMMU, Dec 6: Prof. J.P. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) today flagged off North India Educational Tour of 59 students (2017 batch) including 29 girl students of Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H) in presence of Dr. S. K. Gupta, Registrar, SKUAST-Jammu and Dr. M.S. Bhadwal , Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry.
On the occasion, Prof. Sharma blessed the students and wished them safe and fruitful journey. He said that the educational tour offers students an opportunity for a rich immersion of experiences. Students converse and socialize with local people, which broadens their perspective greatly. Further, he said that such tour provides effective learning from real-world experience, better chance for exchange of ideas, personal development, enhances perspective of the world around and better networking skills. Dr. S. K. Gupta, Registrar, SKUAST-Jammu also blessed the students and advised them to be remained disciplined and enthusiastic during the tour.
Dr. Bhadwal, Dean, F.V.Sc & A.H said that during the educational tour students will visit premiere Veterinary & Dairy Science institutes and Universities like Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izzatnagar, Bareilly; National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal; Guru Angad Dev Veterinary And Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana; G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUA&T), Pantnagar and other places of educational importance. The students will have an opportunity to get exposure of different animal farms, laboratories and animal clinics which will help them in exploring entrepreneurial career opportunities in times to come.
The student tour is being accompanied by Dr. A.K. Pandey, Associate Professor, VGO; Dr Nazam Khan, Assistant Professor, LFC and Rafaqat Rashid, LSA of Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-Jammu
