| Army provides solar lanterns to Gujjars, Bakerwals | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Dec 23- Gujjar and Bakarwal families of Kandi area of Baramulla district have some reason to cheer about. Living in darkness up until now, thirty two such families have now been provided with solar lanterns by the Army as a goodwill gesture to alleviate their sufferings. Their homes will now be illuminated by solar lanterns donated by the Army. The solar lanterns were handed over to the families under the aegis of Kilo Force.
The gesture by the Army was appreciated by everyone present on the occasion.
With a view to bring about a paradigm shift in their livelihood, the Army is making sincere and dedicated efforts to help the local population by providing them very basic infrastructure and educational facilities to the youth.
