12/7/2022 11:14:27 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 7: The purpose of repealing Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir has proved to be arbitrariness, loot and indifference to public issues, the government remains busy in filling its coffers, after handing over water bills to the people, wildly increasing power tariff, has now completed preparations to collect property tax. Get up, wake up, hit the streets for your rights, can't tolerate tax collection without facilities, Shiv Sena is with you.
This was stated by Manish Sahni, President J&K Shiv Sena while leading a protest against government over its planning to introduce property tax in Jammu.
Shiv Sena leaders, under the chairmanship of Manish Sahni, today assembled at channi crosing near party centre office and staged protest against the government.
Talking to reporters, Sahni said that preparations have been completed to put the burden of property tax on the people who are suffering from the economic crisis and unbridled inflation that started due to demonetisation, GST and Corona epidemic.
"After the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the tax burden on the people of the state is continuously being increased. Plans have been made to hand over water bills to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, rich in immense water resources, increase in electricity bills, installation of smart meters and now completely break the back of the public through property tax," he added.
Sahni said that these days the area of every house and shop is being measured, it is clear that preparations have been made to collect huge property tax from the public. At the same time, nothing is being done in the name of facilities. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is being flouted at various places, collection is being done to collect garbage from the houses, most of the localities have streets and Chowks, he added.
