DC Reasi presides over weekly Block Diwas meeting at Dharan in Thakrakote
Launches work of 2 JJM Water Supply Schemes

REASI, Dec 7: Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, Babila Rakwal today visited panchayat Dharan in Block Thakrakote and listened to scores of public demands and resolved several issues on the spot at the Weekly Block Diwas meeting.
The PRIs and general public of the area put forth their issues seeing road connectivity to uncovered areas, meeting shortage of teaching staff in schools, health institutions, augmentation of drinking water supply, and other issues of local importance.
PRIs as well as general public also hailed the efforts of district administration for bringing Chinkah on the Tourist map.
Addressing the locals, Block Development Council, Chairperson Thakrakote, Rajinder Kumar spoke on the empowerment of three tier Panchayat system and its role in development of rural areas. He stressed on PRIs to work in tandem with district administration to resolve the public grievances.
Sarpanch Sanjeet Singh presented a charter of works done by various departments for developing the Panchayats on modern lines.
The DC laid focus on proper implementation of Central Sponsored Schemes and UT Capex budget works for larger benefits of the general public.
To prevent road accidents, the DC stressed upon following prescribed technical guidelines while constructing Roads under different schemes in hilly areas. She asked for participation of 50 percent of the public in special Panchayat Gram Sabhas for verification of FRC Cases.
The CEO was directed to rationalise the staff in the schools of Thakrakot Block, while XEN PDD was asked to electrify the rest of households as well as areas of the block. The Horticulture department was asked to hold Panchayat wise awareness camps beneficial for the farming community of the area, while Jal Shakti Department was asked to complete all New and old water Supply schemes as well as irrigation schemes in the stipulated time frame.
The DC Reasi also kick started two Water Supply Scheme projects under Jal Jeevan Mission in Dharan and Sai Lanjan villages.
Block Diwas was attended by PO ICDS, Anwar Banday; ACD, Anirudh Rai; CEO, Sunita Bali; BDO Kumar Gokul and other district and sectoral officers.
