Pak based terrorists were on Marriot type bombing job in Jammu: DGP

Jammu, Dec 23: With the arrest of three suspects from a City hotel and their interrogation revealing a larger terror plot in Jammu, the state Police today claimed to have averted an “Islamabad’s Marriot hotel type” bombing where terrorist had stormed into a hotel with an explosive laden truck killing several hundred people. However, the fear is still not over. The arrested terrorists have told Police that they were part of a seven member team and the Police are on look for the remaining four. The intended target of their attack in Jammu is yet to be ascertained.
Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda told reporters here today that two of the arrested terrorists belonged to Pakistan and third from Pakistan occupied Kashmir. This revelation has come at a time when New Delhi and Islamabad are engaged in a verbal war on issue of evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in terror attacks against India.
Police had on Sunday picked up three suspects from a local hotel here and upon interrogation they have revealed that they were on a major terror assignment in the town. They have turned out to be cadres of Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit.
During their interrogation they revealed that they were seven in numbers where as police suspects that rest of four are hiding somewhere in Kashmir. They also admitted that they were given instructions to storm at the state in the same way did at hotel Taj a twenty five days ago and for the purpose they had studied the maps in the prominent places which police has also recovered from their possession. They were also told to attack on high profile who are frequent in Jammu due to election if chance made. Police has also recovered the fake identity cards allotted to them on behalf of Savage, Shiping and Logistic Company at West Bengal. They had adopted the same strategy of Mumbai attack to hide their identity. They had completely converted themselves into Hindu and had put on vermillion and raksha sutar and were given code name as Ghulam Fareed code name Gulshan Kumar son of Mohammad Shafi resident of village Ruperi, district Bhimber, Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Fareed is serving in Pakistani army as sepoy in 10 Azad Kashmir regiment. He joined Pakistani army in 2001 and was allotted belt no 4219184. Before getting into army he was the member of Harkat Ul Jihad-e- Islami and underwent tactical training for three months in Barnala camp. In 2007 he got his name enrolled in Jaish-e-Mohd cadre. He is skilled in Bengali, Hindi, Urdu and English languages and can operate number of weapons.
Mohammad Abdullah code name Akhilesh Prasad son of Mohammad Zareen resident of village Seri tehsil and district Haripur, North West frontier Provience, Pakistan. He joined Jaish-e-Mohd in 2006.It was on his name the room in hotel Samrat was booked. Mohammad Imran code Indeer Kumar son of Abdul Gaffar resident of 8 Dera Nawab, tehsil Yajmaan Mandi, district Bahawalpur Punjab, Pakistan. He joined the outfit in 2005 and got training in Islamic studies at a madrassa run by Mufti Abdul Rauf, younger brother of Jaish supreme Maulana Azhar Masood, in Rawalpindi town. Police also recovered arms and ammunition included one AK 47,56 rounds of AK 47,2 Chinese pistol,12 rounds and 4 Chinese grenades. They had came for Fidayan attack but before their guide who were in Kashmir reached to them with more arms and ammunition but were apprehended. Their guide did no approach to them due to the NH blockage, so they changed their plan and were waiting for his arrival. In August 2008 they got the orders from the high command to report at Karachi based office adjoining Muleer Army cantonment. Mufti Abdul Rauf had managed their passport and visa. During their stay in Karachi they were made to interact with Maulana and other preachers of Madarassa administered by Jaish in Karachi who kept them charged up with their religious lectures. After two days they left for Bangaladesh via air where they were received by a Pakistani at Dhaka airport who facilitated their stay in Khulna, Bangladesh and sneaked into Indian Territory from the border with the help of a guide. They stayed for a night in Kamarhatti in Kolkatta. On 18th December they boarded Jammu Tawi express from Kolkata railway station with another who had already obtained railway tickets of AC 3 tier. On December 20 the trio reached Jammu along with a guide and they booked a room in hotel Shankar near railway station. Police were keeping close serviliance on them and before police party conducted raid in the hotel Shankar they shifted their hiding place and packed up their bags and book a room in Hotel Samrat near general bus stand from where before they could achieve success in their nefarious design they
