| Gen Kapoor visits Siachen, interacts with troops | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 24- General Deepak Kapoor, Chief of Army Staff accompanied by senior officers of Northern Command visited Siachen Glacier and met troops at forward posts. He addressed troops in a Sainik Sammelan and praised Siachen soldiers for carrying out their task with élan, while braving hardships of weather and terrain in the toughest area of the country. He assured them that whole nation is aware and grateful to Siachen soldiers for safeguarding national frontiers. The COAS exhorted all soldiers to continue doing the excellent work and assured them that whole Army is behind them to support. During interaction with soldiers, he enquired about their welfare and problems faced by them. He was pleased to see the enthusiasm, confidence and motivation of the troops.
COAS was briefed about state of operational preparedness, training activities and recent infrastructural developments. While appreciating the good work undertaken and high state of operational readiness, he asked all ranks to continue the good work done.
