| Unlawful booths in Marh: Bhim | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 24- Alleging gross violation of Election Commission instructions, the JKNPP today demanded countermanding of elections in Marh Assembly constituency. The party in a handout claimed that when this gross violation was brought to the notice of the Returning Officer in person, who instead of taking action, threatened the Party candidate Anita Thakur and Sanjoy Sachdev, President of DPNPP of getting them arrested. The Party has video footage from Polling Station Nos 1 to 16, 36, 38, 39, 39A, 40, 42, 43, 45A, 46 B and many others where candidates of Congress, BJP, NC, BSP, PDP and even independent Balwan Singh had set up such unlawful booths. The same scenario was visible in the entire constituency. Shockingly the BSF staff deployed at these booths was not briefed at all in the matter. The BSF Jawans were asking for unofficial identity slips from the voters for their entry into polling stations, illegally, the party alleged. The Party has informed the Election Commission that since no party or candidate had applied for the permission as required in Para 3 of the EC order, hence all such booths of candidates were illegal and has demanded action in accordance with Para 9 against all responsible officers who failed to take timely action. The JKNPP further alleged that at polling station No. 7, the polling started at about 9.30 A.M and was closed at 3.30 pm and agents thrown out by the polling party. The agents were not even allowed to sign the sealing of BU and Cus.
