SAMBA, Dec 13: Krishi Vigyan Samba, under the leadership of Professor J.P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu and also under the direct supervision of Dr. S.K. Gupta, today organized one day In-service training programme on "Weed Management in Rabi crops". The programme was attended by thirteen officers from Department of Agriculture, Samba.
The programme was started with the welcome address by Prof. Sanjay Khajuria, Chief Scientist & Head, in which he welcomed all the officers of line department and gave a brief outline of the programme in order to lower down the menance of weeds. During the programme, he discussed in details about the importance of weed management in rabi crops. He also urged upon the officers to make comprehensive programme in the district in order to eradicate the congress grass as well as panjfulli. Dr. Jai Kumar, Senior Scientist Agronomy, ACRA Dhiansar during the training programme, discussed in detail about the Integrated weed Management strategy for the rabi crops. He discussed in length and breadth about the judicious use of herbicides in weed management.
Dr. Amit Mahajan, Farm Manager, KVK Samba Coordinator of the programme discussed in detail about the different weed control methods in wheat, Mustard and Pulses. He emphasized about the different herbicides which are ecofriendly and also extended vote of thanks. |
