Congress Seva Dal holds Pad Yatra

JAMMU, Dec 13: The Congress Seva Dal under the chairmanship of Vijay Sharma organized "Pad Yatra" from Satwari Chowk to Shaheedi Chowk, today. This is a rehearsal of Bharat Jodo Yatra which is expected to enter Jammu and Kashmir in the third week of January from Lakhanpur. Working President JKPCC Raman Bhalla flagged off the Yatra from Satwari Chowk at 12.00 Noon. The Seva Dal volunteers led by Rajinder Rasrania, All India Congress Seva Dal Secretary Incharge Jammu and Kashmir UT were holding flags and banners and play cards in their hands amidst raising slogans marched towards Shahidi Chowk on both sides of the road, without disturbing traffic movement and in a disciplined manner. After walking distance of 8 Kms. Via Vikram Chowk, Jewal Chowk, Vivekanand Chowk, they reached PCC HQ Shaheedi Chowk at 2.00 P.M. where Yatra was culminated after a brief address by Mr. Rajinder Rasrania and JK Seva Dal Chief Vijay Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion Rajinder Rasrania said that the aim of today's Pad Yad Yatra is to make Bharat Jodo Yatra a success in Jammu and Kashmir. He also sought the cooperation of the general people and different organizations for the historic event post independence.
Vijay Sharma in his address said that the yatra has already received an overwhelming response; lakhs of people accompanied by Congress leaders have joined the movement to raise their voice against the economic, social and political issues that are dividing our nation today. The yatra seeks to address rampant unemployment & inflation, the politics of hate and division and the over-centralisation of our political system.
