DC chairs District Road Safety Committee meeting
Directs for removal of encroachments, illegal hoardings from roadsides

KISHTWAR, Dec 13: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav today chaired a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee to review the measures being taken for the effective implementation of road safety plan in the district besides discussing further measures to prevent mishaps.
The meeting held detailed deliberations on the action plan regarding raising awareness about road safety, implementation of provision of Motor Vehicles Act, removal of illegal encroachments/hoardings, fixing of road safety signages, installation of Crash barriers and safety measures along accident prone road stretches and at designated black spots.
Speaking in the meeting, the DC said that effective execution of the road safety plan was necessary for prevention and protection of road accidents. He called for strict enforcement of road safety rules and implementation of stringent safety measures by the enforcement departments.
Taking note of the illegal encroachment along the roadsides, the DC passed strict instructions to the concerned officers to remove the same at the earliest.
Regarding corrective measures, the NHIDCL and other concerned authorities were directed to rectify designated blind spots to prevent mishaps.
Concerned Officers were asked to constitute Joint teams of NHIDCL, Traffic Police, MVD and concerned Tehsildars to monitor the safety and rectification process. Stress was also laid on installation of crash barriers and other safety measures.
The Tehsildar Kishtwar was asked to identify no parking zones and ensure strict enforcement. He was also directed to remove illegal and unethical hoardings from the road sides.
The meeting was attended by SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt, ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal, ACR Kishtwar Varunjeet Singh Charak,DGM NHIDCL Shailander Kumar, SDM Paddar Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma,Tehsildar HQ Chander Shekhar Sharma,RTO Kishtwar Romesh Samotra, Tehsildar Kishtwar Umar Muneeb, STO circle Kishtwar Maneet Kumar, ExEns besides other members of DRSC.
