| Muharram arrangements finalized in Poonch | | | Early Times Reporter
POONCH, DEC 24: Arrangements were finalized at a joint meeting of District officers and representatives of various Shia organizations, conducted under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Poonch today. Various discussion were taken to ensure essential services like provision of potable water, uninterrupted power supply, especially during night, medicare facilities, availability of cooking gas, kerosene oil, rice, atta and sugar in localities dominated by Shia population. It was further noted that repairs of street light and roads specified for mourn processions would be repaired on war footing. Besides cleanliness of Shia areas, Iman Bada and route of procession would carried on regular during these days. Adequate security and transport facilities were also reviewed in the meeting. Additional quota of rice, atta and sugar (50 quintal each) would be stocked at sale outlets at Poonch, Mandi, Surankote and Mendhar, which would be provided to the members of Shia community on requirement basis. Similarly K.Oil and cooking gas would be provided from these delivery points. Reviewing medicare facilities, it was decided that medical teams alongwith ambulances and first aid would accompany the processionist besides concerned health centres would operate round the clock during these days for the purpose. Among others ADDC, ADC and SP Poonch were also present in the meeting.
