Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 15: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Thursday sought strict penal action against the culprits behind the recruitment scams in the Union Territory while the government annulled the exam conducted for recruitment of Legal Assistants and Junior Legal Assistants held in November last year.
In a statement issued to media persons, the senior BJP leader termed the situation as unfortunate because it was the fourth consecutive recruitment process which has been cancelled in recent time raising a big question mark on the ability to hold recruitment in the government sector by the government.
The stalwart leader of BJP urged the administration to probe the matter at the highest level and identify the culprits at the earliest because repeated disruptions in the recruitment processes is maligning the image of the government and also raising questions on the competence of those sitting at helm. He said that those responsible for irregularities should be taken to task without any leniency or excuse because such incidents dent the image of the government as this is not the first case where irregularities have been surfaced and the government has to take the extreme step of annulling the exams to ensure fair deal to all.
Kavinder asked LG Manoj Sinha to intervene in the matter and take cognizance because such irregularities in the sensitive matter of recruitment will alienate youths and there is a possibility that they lose faith in the working of government. He said that the matter is of immense significance and therefore top priority should be given to this whole gamut and things which have gone haywire should be rectified as soon as possible to regain the faith of the people.
