JAMMU, Dec 17: Today a felicitation ceremony was organized on behalf of Shri Kailakh jyotish avim Vedic Sanathan trust. Former minister Sham Lal Sharma was present as the chief guest on the occasion. On this occasion, Jammu Municipal Corporation Councilor Ward No. 3 Narottam Sharma was honored.
On this occasion, Shri Kailakh jyotish avim Vedic Sanathan trust President Mahant Rohit Shastri told that a few days ago we had requested Jammu Mayor Rajinder Sharma and Councilor Narottam Sharma to name Satwari Airport Road or Jammu Residency Road as Dr. Uttam Chand. Shastri Pathak ji. On Saturday, Councilor Narottam Sharma got a resolution passed in the general house meeting of Jammu Municipal Corporation with the cooperation of all councilors that Jammu Residency Road should be named as "Pandit Uttam Chand Shastri Pathak Ji Marg". That motion passed.
On this occasion, former minister Sham Lal Sharma said that it is a great thing that for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir a road has been named after a Sanskrit scholar. With such efforts, the morale of Sanskrit servants will increase and with such efforts it is possible to re-establish the extinct Sanskrit religion-philosophy in the state. And the morale of Sanskrit lovers will increase. Councilor Narottam Sharma deserves congratulations.
Councilor Narottam Sharma said that late Dr. Uttam Chand Shastri Pathak ji and his family have made invaluable contribution in the promotion and development of Sanskrit language in India. Late Dr. Uttam Chand Shastri Pathak's dedication in promoting Sanskrit language in the nation is well known. Students educated by him are today holding high positions in the state government and the central government. He left his body at the age of 98 on September 9, 2020.
Lalit Khajuria, Rakesh Gandotra,Yash seth, Sukhjeet Singh, Sanjeev lambha, Sanjeev Khajuria, Trsem Gupta, Rakesh Singh etc. were present on this occasion.
