The Evaluation Study was assigned by the District Level Technical Committee on Evaluation headed by the District Development Commissioner. It was conducted to evaluate the extent of achievement of the objective of the scheme which was to provide housing for rural poor in the country and address the housing needs of the Below Poverty Level (BPL) households.
The study was conducted in eight blocks of the district wherein 592 beneficiaries and 40 knowledgeable persons were selected randomly for collecting the primary data by door to door field investigation by the officials of District Statistics Evaluation Office Jammu which was later tabulated and comprehensive report thereof was prepared. As per the findings of the study, 96% of the beneficiaries reported upliftment of the socio-economic status with the implementation of the scheme which is quite remarkable and commendable.
