| X-Mas celebrated with fervour, enthusiasm | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 25: X-Mas marking the birth of Lord Jesus Christ was celebrated throughout the Jammu region with religious fervour and enthusiasm as a large number of devotees thronged the tastefully decorated churches today. The lighting candles, singing carols, attending the midnight masses and bursting of crackers were the highlights of the religious festival. The Christmas trees were decorated extravagantly in different city churches befitting the occasion. There was a beeline of devotees in all Jammu Churches which were adorned beautifully. The main function was held at Gandhi Nagar, Church where the rush of the faithfulls continued from early in the morning. The devotees joined the candle lighting and mass prayers. There was also a heavy rush of devotees at the Church in Residency road, Karan Nagar, Bakshi Nagar, Muthi and other places. The people of other communities greeted the members of Christian community on the occasion. There was hustle and bustle in various markets as the Santa Claus (Christmas Father) were seen giving gifts to the people. In the evening large number of people again joined the candle lighting ceremony in the churches.
