| Chaman sees BJP emerging largest party | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 25- The state unit of BJP today expressed confidence that this time their party can emerge the largest single party in the Assembly elections of 2008. After the completion of the polling for the last phase, the former Union Minister and senior BJP leader, Prof. Chaman Lal hoped that out of the 13 Assembly seats of Jammu and Samba Districts, for which the polling was held yesterday, the BJP would emerge victorious at most of the places and it would make its presence felt in the valley too, including in Srinagar District also. Prof. Gupta, who is also the BJP nominee in Jammu West Constituency, looked confident that their party would bag all the three seats of this capital city including that of Jammu West. He regretted that the voter lists were not up to the mark and there were large number of names mysteriously missing and in many cases the names and parentage etc., was not listed correctly causing great inconvenience to the electorates. The BJP leader also alleged that at certain polling booths delaying tactics were used in conducting the poll process due to which large number of voters had to wait for hours together to cast their votes. About the large participation of the electorates in the polling, the BJP leader said that the people have demonstrated their anger by voting against the Congress and its allies for their failure on various fronts, especially in Jammu region because of the communal and regional bias demonstrated by the Ghulam Nabi Azad led Congress and its allies during the past years. In fact the electorates have taken this battle of ballot as a fight between the nationalists and the elements aspiring secessionism and limited accession with India, he said and observed that in this battle almost all the former Ministers, particularly from Jammu, would fall flat.
