Election department imparts training to EROs, AEROs, PEBOs

RAMBAN, Dec 20: The Election Department Ramban today conducted a day-long training programme here at Conference Hall, New District Administrative Complex, to sensitize the EROs, AEROs (BDOs) and Panchayat Election Booth Officials (PEBOs) about Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision-2023.
Presiding over the function, District Panchayat Election Officer, (Deputy Commissioner) Mussarat Islam highlighted the importance of the electoral registration process and electoral roll revision. He urged the participants to work with utmost dedication to complete the process of electoral registration and electoral roll revision within the given time frame. He urged all the government functionaries and other stakeholders to actively participate in the Panchayat Electoral Roll revision exercise to ensure that all eligible voters are enrolled in the Electoral Roll.
During the training programme, the participants were imparted training about the registration process and briefed about the Forms to be used during the Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision. They were instructed to take all necessary steps to bring the process to a logical end and prepare the error-free and healthy roll.
Later, the DEPO also handed over Draft Panchayat Electoral Rolls, forms, banners, Assembly Electoral Rolls, and other related materials to PEBOs and other functionaries of the block.
Earlier, Deputy District Election Officer, Lal Chand informed that the Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision process shall commence from December 21, 2022 with January 1, 2023 as the qualifying date for the registration of new voters. He briefed the participants about the forms including Form PER 2A, PER 2B, PER 2C and PER 2D to be used during the revision. Six special camps shall be organized during the revision period during which the Booth Levels Officers (BLOs) shall remain available at the Polling Station locations with requisite Forms for the assistance of PEBOs and guidance of the electors, he informed.
Among others, Electoral Registration Officers, ACR, Giasul-Haq, Assistant Electoral officers (BDOs), PEBOs including VLW, MPW, GRS, Account Assistants Panchayat and other election officials attended the training programme.
