Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 21: Shiv Sena (Uddhav BalaSaheb Thackeray) Jammu and Kashmir unit today sought availability of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra registration facility across the country on the lines of Baba Amarnath Yatra. Under the leadership of state chief Manish Sahni, senior leaders submitted a memorandum to the Lieutenant Governor at the Raj Bhavan regarding their above demands. State chief Manish Sahni while addressing the media said that the present Yatra registration system for pilgrimage of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi has become a cause of serious issue for the devotees coming to perform pilgrimage in the holy town.
"Devotees have forced to stand in long queues for hours due to heavy rush during Navratras, New Year and almost throughout the year just because of limited number of registration counters. Resulting in pilgrims have disappointed and some of them forced to return without having Darshan due to hectic registration process," he said.
Sahni urged the Shrine Board to simplify the process of Yatra registration by making availability of Yatra slips across the country on the lines of Baba Amarnath Yatra. Besides, the Shrine Board should also increase registration counters at Katra and the same registration counters should also be established at Railway Station Jammu and Lakhanpur, the entry point of the Union Territory, he added.
Sahni said that the economy of Jammu division is largely dependent on Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra. The increase in travel distance should also increase the hope of boosting J&K's economy, adding that in the garb of development, the journey has already been cut halfway.
Along with the temples of Jammu, the first Darshan Koll Kandoli temple at Nagrota has been cut off by the development of road and rail routes. Along with this, Sahni has termed as unfortunate the report of the inquiry committee constituted by the Governor Government on the painful accident at Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Darbar on the first morning of 2022 and no action taken against the then officials. On this occasion President Mehila wing Meenakshi Chibber, Gen Secretaries Vikas Bakshi and GI Singh, vice president Balwan Singh, Harsh Kumar Gupta, president Kamghar wing Raj Singh and many others were present.
