Civil Defence organizes debate competition

JAMMU, Dec 21: A debate competition-cum Seminar was organized by Civil Defence, Jammu under the aegis of Directorate of Homeguards, CD & SDRF J&K, Jammu at Ranbir Memorial Public High School Kirpalpur Mandal, Jammu on the topic "Role of Educational Institutions in Disaster Management and Civil Defence". Randhir Singh (KPS) I/C DIG, HG, CD & SDRF, Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. On the opening of the program, Dy.SP. Anita Pawar Dy. Controller CD, Jammu welcomes the chief guest and made the welcome/ introductory speech.
Professor Mamta Sharma, Professor Raj Jamwal of Govt. College for Women Parade, Jammu and S. Kulwant Singh Retired Head Master were the Jury Members of the debate who adjudicated the participant. (10) Students form deferent Schools took part in the debate competition in which Alokita Singh student of St. John Convent School Mandal bagged 1st position, Mansi Saini bagged student of Ranbir Memorial Public High School Mandal 2nd position and Sarika Sharma Student of Sant Hare Ram Dass Public School Mandal bagged 3rd. position. The winner students were awarded Mementos along with certificate of appreciation by the chief guest. Certificate of appreciation were also given to all the participants.
While addressing the participants, the chief guest appreciated the school management for their co-operation in organizing the debate competition and highlighted the role of Educational Institutional in the Civil Defence organization. He urged all concerned to do their bit by way participating Civil Defence Awareness camps and training camps being organized by civil defence to make aware the students and staff members with regard to preventive measures during natural or Manmade Disaster. Around 50 students participated in the programme and the large number of teachers from different schools were also attended the programme. After the culmination of the debate, Mrs. Vijay Rekha Principal, Ranbir Memorial Public High School presented the vote of thanks. A lunch was served to the participants.
Besides Paramjit Kumar Chief Warden Civil Defence, Jammu, R. Vijay Magotra Dy. Chief Warden Civil Defence, Jammu Raj Kumar Dy. Post Warden and Civil Defence staff present on the occasion.
