JAMMU, Dec 25: Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), has asserted that after its defeat in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh elections, Bharatiya Janata Party fearing its crushing defeat in Jammu and Kashmir has been avoiding holding of elections in this Union Territory. Accusing the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and J&K affairs Incharge and Prabhari, Tarun Chugh have entered into a well knit conspiracy to stall the Assembly elections to avoid the imminent defeat.
This was expressed by the senior National Conference leader while addressing Party workers’ meeting at Village Kharian in Miran Sahib area on the outskirts of Jammu today.
While addressing the workers and other dignitaries at the venue of meeting, Rattan Lal Gupta castigated the J&K Administration of ignoring the burning issues including the serious problem of PM package KP employees, Jammu based employees and SC employees posted in Kashmir Valley. He said that these employees are protesting on roads for the last so many months and it is unfortunate that government is totally unmoved. The height of things is that the UT Administration has adopted a threatening stance against these employees so much so that the LG has gone to the extent of not releasing salaries of these employees till they join duties in the Valley, he added.

He said that the people today feel cheated by the BJP despite having given a massive mandate to it in the last Assembly elections.
Rattan Lal Gupta said that recruitment scams, unemployment reaching peak and corruption ruling the roost are the hallmark of BJP’s proxy Govt in J&K as a result of which the common people are struggling to come out of the burden of immense miseries. He asserted that the people are waiting for the Assembly elections in J&K and will teach the saffron party a lesson using their power of ballot.

He said that BJP is only interested in creating a communal divide to befool the people for getting votes in the impending Assembly elections.
Bashir Ahmed, Provincial Secretary NC while speaking on the occasion said that the BJP Govt has miserably failed on all fronts and is trying to dent the rich secular ethos of J&K purely for its vote bank interests. He said despite making tall claims of taming terrorism, terrorists continue to target vulnerable ones at their free will.
