Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 25: Bhartiya Janta Mazdoor Sangh J&K under the Presidentship of Surinder Yadav and Media Incharge Naveen Bali Sunday organized meeting at party office in Jammu to discuss various issues of employees of both the organised and unorganised sectors in J&K. Prominent among those present in the meeting include Parma Ram Chowdhary, Chenaram, Rajesh Chauhan ,Mukesh Kumar, Pooja Sharma, PK Seth besides others.
Addressing the meeting ,Yadav said that Bhartiya Janta Mazdoor Sangh is committed to protect labourers’s interests and will continue pressurise union government to not ignore their burning issues. “The central government should stop curtailing the workers’ rights in the name of labour law reforms and other policy reforms," he added. Over the last two years, the BMS has stayed away from strikes or other protests called by other central labour unions. It’s protest on Friday will serve to highlight the opposition the government is facing from the working class.PM’s good intentions and efforts are neutralised by lack of proper experts, lack of communication and lack of feedback from social sector which includes labour, farmer, below poverty line, tribal, backward people, micro industries, etc, dependence on faulty advisors and misguided reforms, added Yadav.
Yadav further said that BJMS is expanding the union in the entire J&K to remove the problems of the workers as well as to get the benefits of government schemes. Soon by expanding the association to all the districts of J&K, it is working for the interests of the companies and daily laborers established in the districts. The governments have not so far been able to convince the public how labour laws are hurdles in economic activities and about the emergent situation requiring the extreme step of suspension of labour laws, Yadav stated.
“On the contrary, for the labour, the Covid-19 situation created an extraordinary situation of massive economic losses and job losses, losses of livelihood besides financial, psychological and social issues. Now there is every likelihood that such a situation might again be faced by them and urgent measures need to be taken to address this,” Yadav said.He urged Lt Governor for details of road maps for economic activities and employment generation after Covid-19.
