CEO SMVDSB inaugurates North Regional Rupak Mahotsav

JAMMU, Dec 28: Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Anshul Garg today inaugurated the North Regional Rupak Mahotsav being organized under the aegis of Central Sanskrit University, Shri Ranvir Campus, Jammu at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, Jammu.
The program was inaugurated by Vedic invocation by Ved Department of Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan, Basohli wherein students and faculty of Central Sanskrit University campuses and Adarsh Mahavidyalaya from four states - J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Uttarakhand of North zone are participating.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Anshul Garg said that this North Regional Rupak Mahotsav being organized by the Central Sanskrit University is a commendable initiative and an inspiration to the new incumbents. He said that theatre is an important medium to spread joy, promote awareness and protect our rich heritage and culture. Besides, it has an important role in showing us how we should be as a nation and society, he added. CEO also quoted great Sanskrit scholar and art critic Abhinav Gupt to whom Abhinav Theatre of Jammu owes its name. He underscored that a visitor to any major city in a European country not miss their traditional theaters as these are not only places of sophisticated entertainment but also the storehouse of culture and heritage of those people. In line, he recalled the intangible cultural heritage of India where during festivals like Navratras and showcasing of Ramlila, the audience was invited to take part in the narration, playing roles in a variety of related activities has been reduced with the emergence of Internet based entertainment & OTT platforms.
Talking about the significant role of SMVD Gurukul, the Chief Executive Officer said that from the last 12 years the Gurukul is paving the way to develop the students with high moral values well accustomed with the modern, traditional, and spiritual education for the strong spiritual-cultural foundation of J&K.He said that SMVD Gurukul has earned a name not only at regional level but has proved its metal at National level under the constant guidance and directions of Chairman, SMVDSB (Lt Governor, JK-UT). Besides, adding that the Shrine Board under the chairmanship of Hon'ble LG is committed towards promotion of Sanskrit language through institutes like SMVD Gurukul and extended an invitation to Central Sanskrit University for organizing the proposed North Regional zonal festival in feb-March, 2023 at katra which shall be fully supported by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. He urged the participants to perform with spirit of sportsmanship with humility and simplicity quoting Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee favourite poem "Na Haar mein, Na Jeet mein".
Dr. Jagdish Mehra, Joint Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board also graced the inauguration ceremony as Guest of honour and Prof. Madan Mohan Jha, Campus Director, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu presided over the programme. Besides, Prof. Satish Kumar Kapoor was the coordinator of the program.
