K.C. Public school holds Annual Prize giving ceremony

K.C. Public school organized annual prize giving ceremony to honour and encourage the students who distinguished themselves in the field of Academics, Co-curricular activities, games and sports at state and National level proving that the school aims at holistic development of each and every child. Mr. Sunil Sethi President of Bar Council of J&K was the chief guest on the occasion and Sh. Sudershan Mahajan, Chairman K.C Educational Society was the guest of honour. The principal Jorawar Singh on the occasion presented Annual Report of the school highlighting the achievements during the session. He said school as usual produced excellent results in the Board examination this year also. In class XII Board exam 95 students got first division out of 102 with 35 distinctions and 217 total distinctions in various subjects whereas in class X 196 students got first division out of total 219 in which 37 secured more than 90% marks. Total distinctions in various subjects- 567 Riva Verma topped in class X with 95.8% marks. 7 students found a place in toopers list declared by CBSE at All India Level in various subjects.
Nishat Koul of class X was selected for the Award of Annual scholarship under” National Talent Search Examination” conducted by NCERT at all India level. He was the only students from J&K who has received this award.
The school did equally well in the field of games and sports more than 100 students represented J&K state in various sports disciplines. Mani Wanchoo, Apoorv Sharma and Lavanya Sharma were awarded National Sports Scholarship by NIS, Patiala.
Head boy of KCPS Siddhant Choudhary was the first and only student from J&K state amongst 50 students selected from all over India schools to visits Japan for “JENYSYS” National Exchange Programme organized Ministry of Human Resource Development of India The programme was graced by distinguished parents who hihly appreciated the achievements and liked the Odissi dance performed Anandila Sahu.
