Jammu, Jan 2: Even as deadly terror strike took place in Rajauri area of Jammu and Kashmir on January 1, same time around an also attack took place in the summer capital of Srinagar.
While the unidentified terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on civilians at their homes in Rajauri, same time around a blast took place in the Hawal area of Srinagar near a paramilitary bunker.
Official sources said the intelligence agencies have inputs that the attacks were carried out on the instructions of the “terror handlers in Pakistan who wanted to create fear on the first day of the new year.”
Sources said the Pakistan hand in the twin terror strikes was more than obvious and that Lashkar and Jaish were behind the attack.
Source said the intelligence agencies had inputs that some weeks ago, Pakistan intelligence agencies had held a meeting with their terror cadres discussing the conspiracy to carry out terror strikes in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said the intelligence agencies had inputs that the terrorists were conspiring to carry out terror strikes in the new year but that the Rajauri incident took the security grid by surprise.
A senior official told the Early Times on the condition of anonymity that security was already heightened across major cities and towns in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said the Jammu and Kashmir Police have inputs that the attack was carried out by the foreign terrorists who may had infiltrated into Indian territory from the neighboring frontiers of Rajauri.
The next morning, IED explosion left two left dead and two others wounded when the blast took place at house of one of the victims.
Its pertinent to mention that as many as six Dogra people were killed in the twin incidents in Rajauri since January 1.
