| Pak troops movement along LoC? | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 27: Pakistan is reported to have has moved additional troops across Line of Control along Poonch and Rajouri sectors following mounting tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad. Army sources today said that for the last three days additional troops have been moved to the border and the movement continued till today. Sources said that till today no heavy military hardware, including tanks had been moved to the border yet. The sources said that as far as the International Border (IB) is concerned, Pakistan has not withdrawn the Rangers but has deployed a large number of companies for assisting the Rangers in case of armed conflict between the two sides. In reply to a question, the Army sources said “we have neither moved additional troops nor any heavy war machinery to the border.” They said “our troops are on a high alert and in case of any emergency we can deploy additional troops and carry heavy war machinery to the border within a couple of hours. The sources said that indications are that the tension may not result in any armed conflict after Delhi succeeded in persuading the USA, China and Saudi Arabia on mounting pressure on Islamabad to abandon war hysteria which it had built simply to divert the attention from war against terrorism.
