Reasi admin finalizes arrangements for Shiv Khori Mela

REASI, Jan 3: Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Babila Rakwal today chaired a meeting to finalise the arrangements for smooth conduct of annual Maha ivratri Mela, 2023 here at iv Khori rine.
The three day congregation will begin from February 17 and culminate on February 19, 2023.
During the meeting, the DDC discussed arrangements for drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation, repair of roads, medical facilities and foolproof security.
The concerned departments were asked to put in place requisite arrangements well in advance for the smooth conduct of Maha ivratri yatra.
Tehsildar Pouni was appointed as the Yatra /Mela Officer and was asked to issue permission/identity cards for the langers and ensure that the langers were installed at already specified locations.
AD Tourism, Ambika Bali was asked to take up the matter with the Director Tourism for Sanitation/Cleanliness of Ransoo-ivkhori area during the Mela.
The SSP Reasi was asked to set up four frisking points at Taxi Stand, Base Camp, Ram Mandir, Pony Stand and at entrance of the Holy Caves for smooth regulation of the Yatra.
The ARTO was asked to allow entry of Heavy Vehicles only upto Kanda and Teryath. The ARTO was asked to provide 20 Matadors/Mini Buses for pick -up and drop service for Pilgrims from Kanda.
Regarding medical facilities, the Deputy Commissioner was assured by the CMO that a sufficient number of medical staff along with essential medicines, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, ambulances etc would be put in place to deal with any untoward incident and medical emergency. Similarly, SSP Reasi, Amit Gupta briefed the DC about security grid and traffic management plan.
The Deputy Commissioner was apprised by the PDD, PHE and PWD functionaries about the deployment of men, machinery and materials during yatra days.
The Xen JJM was asked to ensure sufficient water supply through the existing water points from Ransoo to ivkhori, proper pumping and uninterrupted power to all pumping stations and reservoirs in advance to avoid water shortage.
The BDO Pouni was asked to identify a suitable landfill in consultation with Naib Tehsildar to construct a temporary pit for disposal of waste material/ litter and the same shall be covered once the yatra was over.
