| An awareness program on HIV held | | |

Jammu, Jan 3: An awareness program on HIV/AIDs and drug de-addiction was conducted at Sanjay Nagar and Preet Nagar Jammu on 03/01/2023 by our organization, Himalaya Sewa Sang (HSS Jammu) in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir AIDs Control Society.
A large no. of youth participated in the programme. The youth especially in the age group of 18-35 years were sensitized about the causes, prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS disease. The Topology of HIV/AIDS was discussed among the participants. The participants were also educated about the facilities set up by the Government and various voluntary organizations regarding the prevention, causes, control, testing and treatment of HIV/AIDS in the Jammu and other adjoining districts. The resource person Mr. Nihal Gupta spoke at length about the ill effects of drugs upon the youth and their associated families. The need for voluntarily Blood Donation and community based testing (CBT) in the population was also stressed. |
