Muslim organizations support Sanatan Dharam Sabha’s shutdown call against killings

Kishtwar, Jan 3: After unfortunate killings of six civilians in two different terror incidents in Dangri village of Rajouri district, the Muslim bodies across Muslim dominated Chenab valley comprising of Doda, Kishtwar & Ramban district extended their support to the shutdown call given by various Hindu organisations including Sanatan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar on Tuesday.
As per the details available with Early Times, the business establishment of both the communities remained shut and traffic was off the roads. Whole Market areas in Doda and Kishtwar Districts, particularly the Muslim dominated areas observed complete shutdown to condemn the Rajouri killings.
Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo who also headed Muslim strong body of Majles e Shoura, an amalgam of various religious & social organisation, condemned the killings of innocent people in Rajouri District.
Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar told Early Times that Majles e Shoura in its meeting held on Monday at Kishtwar unanimously decided to condemn the gruesome killings of innocent civilians in Dangri village of Rajouri District.
“Islam is a religion of peace and it doesn’t support the killing of any innocent person. Killing of an innocent person is like a killing of whole humanity” said Farooq Ahmed Kichloo.
Kichloo said that those behind innocent killings in Rajouri must be brought to book and should be given exemplary punishment.
Another religious organisation Seerat Committee Doda also condemned the Rajouri killings and extended its support to the bandh call given by various Hindu organisations.
President Masjid Committee Thathri in Doda District also condemned the killings of innocent people in Rajouri District.
Several trader unions and transport organisations also supported the bandh call given for Tuesday.
People while expressing anger against the killings of innocent civilians, called for maintaining peace & communal harmony.
Earlier Sanatan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar on Monday called on DC Kishtwar & submitted the memorandum demanding punishment for the culprits involved in killing of innocent civilians in Rajouri District.
President Sanatan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar Surinder Kumar Sen told media persons that the innocent killings are unacceptable and demanded action against Pakistan sponsored terrorists.
Speaking to Early Times, President Sanatan Dharam Sabha expressed gratitude to all those people who made today’s shutdown call successful, particularly to Muslim community who overwhelmingly responsed to the bandh call.
“Today’s successful shutdown call by both the communities is a clear snub and message for Pakistan and its proxies that it (Pakistan) will not succeed in its nefarious design” said Surinder Sen added that Pakistan will not be allowed to get succeed in its mission to spread disharmony in J&K.
