Vikar Rasool to discuss re-induction of Tara Chand, others with Cong high command

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 4: Amid reports that ex-loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad are mounting pressure on local leadership of Congress to fulfill their promise of re-inducting them in the party, J&K Congress chief Vikar Rasool Wani is going to Delhi to discuss the issue with high-command.
Highly placed sources said that Vikar Rasool Wani will rush to Delhi on Thursday to decide the fate of the former Congress leaders who had quitted the party and joined the Democratic Azad Party (DAP) led by their “political mentor” Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Within days after the formation of the Democratic Azad Party (DAP) these leaders were expelled from the party for “hobnobbing” with Congress.
As reported earlier on December 22 DAP expelled three leaders from the party. DAP general secretary, Rajinder Singh Chib, in a statement said that the trio was expelled for ‘anti-party activities’.
“Chairman DAP Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad has expelled Shri Tara Chand, Dr. Manohar Lal, and Shri Balwan Singh, from the party with immediate effect for anti-party activities,” Chib said in the statement.
Highly placed sources said the trio was in touch with Congress leaders and they were luring other leaders of the DAP to rejoin the Congress party.
“They have already finalized their terms and conditions with the Congress high command to rejoin the party. At the behest of the Congress's top leaders, they were trying to convince other potential leaders of the DAP to rejoin the Congress party”, sources said.
Sources said these leaders were promised that they would be re-inducted into the party during the visit of the AICC general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal but the same could not be materialized due to internal conflict among some leaders.
Secondly, K C Venugopal too has not shown much enthusiasm to re-induct these leaders in the party in a hurry. He suggested the party leadership to wait for Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.
