Ex-CPFs demand OROP, other benefits

JAMMU, Jan 6: Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association today stressed upon the Government to shun dividing forces on One Rank One Pension (OROP) and other benefits and extended the same in favour of jawans and ex-personnel of Central Paramilitary forces also.
Addressing a press conference here, Shashi Sharma, president of the association, said that Central Paramilitary Forces (CPFs) at present are guarding all the borders of the country and maintaining law and order throughout the country by helping the police of States.
He said that they are hurt due to the step motherly attitude of the Union Government for ignoring the long pending demand of Ex CPMF for One Rank, One Pension (OROP).
"In the year 2019 on the eve of holy Deepawali festival the Prime Minister announced for the One Rank, One Pension to all but till date we are struggling for the pending demand," He said.
He also condemned the attitude of senior officers of paramilitary forces like the Director General for not putting their grievances to the government for favourable response.
He urged Home Minister Amit Shah to resolve their issue at their own end with the blessing of the Prime Minister.
He said a delegation of Ex. Central Armed Police Force Personnel Welfare Association Punjab and J&K under the chairmanship of P.S. Sandhu President of the Association, Darshan Chauhan General Secretary CPMF met with Arvind Kumar Chief controller of Accounts, (Ministry of Home Affairs) at New Delhi and discussed the long pending cases of the retired BSF personnel and widows in PAO, BSF New Delhi. Rajesh Kumar Senior Accounts Officer of PAO BSF was also present in the meeting.
He said that The CCA (Home) directed the Senior Accounts Officer to finalize the pending cases within a week and in future no case should be pending with PAO BSF for more than one week on receipt from their concerned BSF units / HQs.
The CCA (home), he added, has also directed that the retired Associations / retirees should be informed about the status of their cases through letters / emails.
In future the Booklet of PPO should be sent to the retiree through his parent unit instead of bank, he said adding that the CCA (Home) has also been approved for holding a quarterly meeting with Director (Accounts) PAO BSF by the president of Ex. Central Armed Police Force personnel Welfare Association Punjab and J&K (UT).
